BEHAVIOR SYSTEM:

A classroom chart for tracking student behavior is hanging on the board. At the start of the day each student has a clothespin labeled with his/her name which is placed on the center space marked, " Ready to Learn." Spaces moving up the chart are: "Good Day", "Great Job" & "Outstanding". Spaces moving down the chart are: "Stop & Think" (verbal warning), "Teacher's Choice"(lose part or all of daily recess or free time), Lose Friday Fun. Extreme behavior incidences will be referred to the office immediately. Throughout the day, students' clothespins move up or down the chart depending on their behavior. At the end of the day students with good behavior (clothespins on one of the top 3 spaces on the chart) will earn a small treat and a Chance Ticket for a weekly drawing from the class "Treasure Box."

 Other classroom rewards include:

"Super Kid" cards used for homework completion. When a student completes a homework assignment on the due date (in one of my classes), he/she will get a sticker for his/her "Super Kid" card. After the 10th sticker is earned, he/she gets to choose a preferred activity for 10 minutes (i.e computer time, puzzle center, games, free reading, or drawing).

A # 1 Winners-Students who earn an "A" on a test completed in one of my classes will earn a piece of candy and a Chance Ticket for the weekly drawing.
